Is there a technical reason why I can't jump ramps with BW?

I thought it was my own incompetence, not having played the game for like 5 years now, but once I played a game without BW I leaped over those ramps like a boss.

I tested it with multiple weapon types, i.e. fists, knives, pistols and rifles - no difference. I simply reach much lower. It happens with regular BW too.

I've managed to jump the ramps on Rankin while wielding a melee weapon. The only one that gives me a hard time is the DTS. Does it have a larger movement penalty?
