You can save the entire content of the ut2004 folder, and on the newly installed os run http://namine.thedailypos.org/gamess/UT ... few things you can do
* install UT and copy back the ut2004.ini and user.ini
* backup your ut2004 map and copy it back on the new PC and apply register fix as posted above
* install UT and remove the files on the freshly installed UT2004 map and replace them with the backup u have
