I decided to take up the AS cause from the thread. I haven't got a great deal of experience with AS 'standard' maps (our old server only had 'Race Maps' or 'Race Assault' in the style of Grand Canyon and the like), but I've learnt enough in the past 5 or so months to be able to judge the basic discrepencies. I hadn't played Cirban beforehand, but it looked interesting enough.

I've basically just done a rebalancing job and limited the defender advantage. The minigun turret 'choke points' have been deleted. I've also blocked off the direct jump from the defender spawns to the objective, forcing defenders to take the jump pad to the top, then fall down (maybe a 5 second delay). Hopefully this would counter any perceived congestion. Weapons have also been overhauled. Both teams start with the bio rifle, shock rifle and rocket launcher; with minigun, flak cannon and lightning gun pickups scattered around the map. There are a few small changes besides, but I can't remember ...

No idea whether this is going to be successful or not, because as I said I've limited experience with AS maps. I don't know half the maps well on the server ...
