Re: New maps! New, better attempt at Onslaught!
From what I played and tested it's very tense; it relies a lot on team work and controlling the sectors as well as doing the defense.
I think it has some issues with potential spam around the key areas, but otherwise I think it's interesting enough and favors also close range combat.
everything that is sniper or long range is all about support at best.

This sound so good! Maybe now more people will be more interested in infantry onslaught!

I hope so, just keep voting for it at round end.

Just an update, Rankin is being cut from rotation. I wasn't real confident in it but I wanted to round out the map list better. This map did not perform well so its just going to be removed.

The problem with Rankin was that it was too hard to make a comeback after losing control of the primary due to flames being spammed over/near the node.

Yeah, I'm not sure it'd really ever be good. In order to get to the top level you have to do a fair amount of backtracking, and when the map is so small, that puts you behind quite a bit. I wasn't sure if I should have put the middle node on top or bottom, but I'm not convinced it'd be make much difference on bottom. Height advantage is king in this map and its far easier to get on top from the attacking side than from defending side.
To fix it I'd think a couple jump pads or other ways to the top of the map would be required, but I really don't think the map has much to offer for this game type anyways.

Played Rankin once - it does seem more like Domination really.
Without the ONS ability to charge/deplete nodes from some distance away, the game feels a bit restricted physically and tactically.

Linear layouts were scrapped when this fact was realized.
