Well I'm not suggesting ultra specialized here, mostly just breaking up the obvious skills that pretty much anyone would grab unless they're brain dead type of things. Doing so would make for a more interesting build and allow you to individually tweak parallel stat boosts.
Some ideas for how you could break things up would be, like I suggested, getting bonuses on kill (health on kill would be better than % damage to health in my opinion), getting bonuses for focusing on one enemy, maybe rewarding accuracy, various things like that.
