dk, Bufty and myself are old regulars from http://www.fng-community.com, and I think their host is http://www.hetzner.de/en

From the UK, I always get a ping of under 40 (and never any packet loss) on their UT2004 server which anyone can try at 188.40.40.165:7666.

I'll happily donate the setup fee if it's under €100

Yup they're Hetzner. Familiar with those (have a server on them actually, only the current setup will not allow testing the lag , because of background tasks that will surely lag it and there is heavy DL on it already).

Setup fee is ~100 - 150E and monthly for a 1 Gbit server with SSD will be around 170E or 210E with 1 Gbit connection (which probably is necessary).

So what about the alternative? Any tips? What about http://i3d.net/? One month tryout price is would be 140E. Another try is http://www.hetzner.de/. Also the "1 month tryouts" - there is a setup fee, so not a really good way to go.

I used i3d if I recall for quite some time. I was pleased with them.
