Autodesk 3ds Max
Autodesk Maya
Autodesk Softimage
Blender
Bryce (software)
Cinema 4D
DAZ Studio
Electric Image Animation System
Extra Normal State
Google Sketchup
Houdini
iClone
K-3D
LightWave 3D
Muvizu
modo
Moviestorm
Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker
Poser
Synfig
Toon Boom Harmony 9
MMD
Milkshape 3D
Macromedia Flash
Zbrush
VFX

... but which ones are used for UT2k4? what formats...

I used 3dmax and Maya several years ago... but for other stuff.. I can't remember them but I'm sure I can relearn them quite fast... I do stuff in other CADs, but for engineering and modeling...

Butcher, I highly recommend if you want to do stuff for UT04 that you use Blender. There are plenty of direct and indirect export options available with other stuff, but if you have some horrible bug that pops up from export (or animating, and they can get nasty) I can't guarantee you'll find much support out there for such an old game.

As far as exporting to Unreal goes, you are buggered without access to Maya or 3DSMax, for which the official exporters are written. There is a direct PSK export for Blender, but it has errors and it welds split edges for some stupid reason - splitting edges is how one makes them appear sharpened in game.

@Cal: Blender is faster for raw modelling than Maya.

Not trolled, it's fact, and if you haven't worked it out, I have access to Maya.

facepalm

Besides, what makes you think you can't pirate on Linux? It's even easier as companies don't bother themselves with protecting their stuff.
