Several ideas about improvements:
- repair / shield can be invoked by passenger if the driver allows it (default - it's enabled, however if there is no drived then passenger cannot invoke it)
- shielded benders are fully immune to sky mines

The initial reason for the implementation of the shield was just to provide a defence for being one shotted by bender kb, I'm not sure it needs a buff against skymines.

disagree 1st idea: driver should do something more than just driving; passangers has enough work
disagree 2nd idea: skimine kills only a driver fast, passengers slow; so teamwork group shold load bener w/ 3 plrs...

The first idea was an purely anti-noob measure (as all passengers say REPAIR, SHIELD etc. when a noob drives), however was turned down after discussion with Bono and Aza. Other things could be playing a sound on the client side if your bender health is low and you can repair with an HUD icon (both possible to turn off).

The second idea is against sky mine camps behind corner / edge etc. where you can easily own the driver because in order to advance the others he has to ride into the spam of sky mines.

As for invisibility I don't think there is a good use for that - it's more like for lonely drivers who want to sneak to objs.
