Re: AS-Hera and AS-Agara
Plus, some like to play with good graphics (HD hahahaha), not 1024x768.
Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...

Re: AS-Hera and AS-Agara
Optimisation of maps is something every good mapper will do, as the aim is to allow the greatest number of people possible to play and enjoy your map. It's also not that difficult, either. Anyone who needs help doing it can ask me or just look on UnrealWiki.calum wrote:there are seriously a lot of people with crappy pcs that cant even play ut2004 with good fps in the year 2011, respect ._.
And as aforementioned, some of us (frequently lambasted by you as being shit) like playing the game on the settings it was meant to be played on rather than insult the artists (whether they be level designers, texturers, modellers or conceptual artists) by turning all the graphics down so the level looks like sludge, in the name of being "pro". I've said it before and I've said it again - if you need all-low settings to perform well, you are just as shit as the rest of us.
Kind of funny to hear this from the guy who refused to allow the removal of stolen meshwork averaging 2500 polys per mesh from his map in the name of optimising it, yet plays UT on cack settings anyway >_> I would force high-detail mapwise, but that would ruin everyone who really does need optimisation, instead of these fake "pros" who think that tracking players in neon skins on high detail settings is something reserved for Gods.

Re: AS-Hera and AS-Agara
Agara[F4]
- Moar optimisation.
- Explosion emitters.
- Last room made wider.
Hera[F3]
- Slightly changed first area terrain for better optimisation.
- Fixed explosion emitters.
- Tank is no more (though I'm unsure about the gameplay of the last area now, since the Bender without the tank to stop it had to much RAPE power, took some steps to prevent it being too overpowered, will see how they will flow online).

I'm glad you removed that tank, as from a gameplay perspective it was little more than a speed bump.

Re: AS-Hera and AS-Agara
Okay, I ran Hera alone on the server today and it crashed in the exact same spot. So now I am shure it crashed because of me changing the ScriptedTriggers PlayExplosionSound -> SoundEmitterActorTag to from hidden movers to Emitters, though dont blame me for the crash, since it ran without a problem while testing o_o'
Now those are set back to movers, like in previous releases so everything should work fine.

Yeah, Emitters are extremely unreliable on Linux. Use the K.I.S.S. principle.
