why would you poll that in a (noob) as server. just ask it directly to the clans.

Not everyone is in a clan, it may motivate those that aren't in one, to either join a clan or start-up another one so they can play.
I think a poll asking if people would want to play a clan based assault tournament would be a good idea.

I was thinking an extension to the team balancer which would track the good players on LDG, according to tiers, assigning a numerical value to each. The team balancer would then calculate a numerical value of the good players present on each team, and if there was significant disparity, switch good players and randoms to even out the stack.
