Re: The MARS-3
Firestorm does no damage to the user when you use it as intended. The overheat is supposed to be for emergencies and will damage you per shot.

The Firestorm, by its nature, improves the better the user is.

I see all top players using it, NOT!!!Azarael wrote:The Firestorm, by its nature, improves the better the user is.
In the first 50 players in LDG only e-Maxx[ITA] uses the CYLO FS, and he is 46!

That doesn't change the fundamentals of its concept. If it has higher than normal DPS, but overheats after X shots, it cannot be denied that players who can hit more shots before the Xth is reached get more out of the weapon.

Ok.. see the math:Azarael wrote:That doesn't change the fundamentals of its concept. If it has higher than normal DPS, but overheats after X shots, it cannot be denied that players who can hit more shots before the Xth is reached get more out of the weapon.
CYLO FS
Fire Rate 25 B/sec
Reload Time 10 sec
Over Heat time 5 sec/OH
Number of OH per clip 2 OH/clip
Damage per bullet 32 DMG/B
Number Bullets per clip 28 B/clip
Total damage one clip 896 DMG
Total time to empty clip 21.12 Sec
Total Damage per second for one clip 42.42424242 DMG/sec
CYLO AS
Fire Rate 25 B/sec
Reload Time 10 sec
Over Heat time 0 sec/OH
Number of OH per clip 0 OH/clip
Damage per bullet 30 DMG/B
Number Bullets per clip 30 B
Total damage one clip 900 DMG
Total time to empty clip 11.2 Sec
Total Damage per second for one clip 80.35714286 DMG/sec
See what I mean? I know are not the exact values (Ballistic statistics are offline) but I used the same guns for you to see the difference.

Your stats are wrong, type bwstats to get the actual DPS.

Re: The MARS-3
Done... and my point is clear: It takes the same time to reload but the Firestorm takes more time while the Overheat is gone, so the damage you are able to do per second is reduced because the time is almost doubled. You cannot shoot 571 rounds in a minute because the overheat stops you every 10 bullets.Azarael wrote:Your stats are wrong, type bwstats to get the actual DPS.
CYLO FS
Fire Rate 9.516666667 B/Sec 571 rounds/min
Reload Time 10 sec
Over Heat time 5 sec/0H
Number of OH per clip 2 OH/clip
Damage per bullet 24 DMG/B
Number Bullets per clip 35 B/clip
Total damage one clip 840 DMG/clip
Total time to empty clip 23.67775832 Sec
Total Damage per second for one clip 35.47633136 DMG/sec/clip
CYLO AS
Fire Rate 9.083333333 B/Sec 545 rounds/min
Reload Time 10 sec
Over Heat time 0 sec/0H
Number of OH per clip 0 OH/clip
Damage per bullet 30 DMG/B
Number Bullets per clip 28 B/clip
Total damage one clip 840 DMG/clip
Total time to empty clip 13.08256881 Sec
Total Damage per second for one clip 64.20757363 DMG/sec/clip
In the end what I wanna state is that the overheating waiting time is enough punishment, as for it to have self damage over it.

Re: The MARS-3
Your stats are still useless, since you're taking into account the overheat on the Firestorm. Nobody shoots Firestorm and keeps the button pressed until the magazine is empty so you're entire calculation and argument is moot.
If you want an accurate comparison then stop as the Firestorm overheats and compare an equal time period for the UAW.

Re: The MARS-3
Is exactly what I am doing and is intentional. The Firestorm is the only assault weapon with overheat, so to do statistics you have to take the characteristics of it in count!iRobot wrote: you're taking into account the overheat on the Firestorm.
No one does it because No one can!!!...But again, is exactly my point, with any other assault weapon you are able to empty the magazine (clip) at the specified rate of fire. Which means you may hit all the bullets and make the total specified damage in the time it takes to make the damage.iRobot wrote: Nobody shoots Firestorm and keeps the button pressed until the magazine is empty
Damage per clip = (Number of Bullets in clip)*(Damage per Bullet)
And the time it takes is = (Reload Time+(Number of Bullets)/(Fire Rate))
And in the case of the Firestorm
Damage per clip = (Number of Bullets in clip)*(Damage per Bullet)
the time it takes is = (Reload Time+(Number of Bullets)/(Fire Rate)+(OH Amount)*(Time to cool down))
Which makes the time you need to empty your clip double and the damage per second you make reduced severely.
The weapon effectiveness is after all measured with the amount of damage you do in the time it takes.
