The only problem is the delisting / dev mode bug. I'd wager that the mod server would have run just fine as is if that were fixed, it delists after about 6 games of play.
This is Chaos problem?

It happens in all gametypes on the mod server. I believe the trigger is when a game ends and nobody votes - the server selects a map with the wrong gametype and the master server refuses connection.

I gave up when trying to make more realistic tyre physics. The tyre code for lateral forces is in C++ and the existing implementation [of lateral forces] is arcade crap.

It was playable and actually reasonably popular. I think it's the wrong move to deny the entire gametype just because you are less than satisfied with the tyre physics.

Tyre physics are everything in a racer, and there were complaints. The current version of UW effectively has all cars 4WD with traction control.

Prime problem was my lack of time to fix tyre physics (this isn't easy fix, and my hack had oversteer side effect). This isn't an easy fix and there already are lots of variables in the current model.

Combined slip (or lack of it) is the problem. Without that there is no power oversteer or understeer, and traction is off.

Too bad that iCTF doesn't need any coding then.
And I have a feeling that it doesn't need any balance either..
